Members of the media wishing to obtain information on a Court proceeding or request an interview or statement should contact:

Copies of documents

  1. Search for documents
    • You can search for documents on the Court Files page (the docket) and consult the Search Tips.
    • After submitting your search, click on the magnifying glass icon in the More column to see a list of filed documents. A new window will open with the Recorded Entry Summary Information.

    • You must provide the following information in the email:
      • SUBJECT LINE: “MEDIA REQUEST” and the Court File Number
      • MESSAGE: Document number (Doc column) and Name of document (Recorded Entry Summary column)
    • When “null” is in the Doc column, provide the date and the name of the document.

SUGGESTION: Use your mouse to highlight the entire line with the document number, date and document name, then copy and paste it into an email.

*You can download any document with an icon in the last column (Download), thanks to the Federal Court’s Online Access to Court Records Pilot Project.

Hearings

There are two ways to search for hearings:

  • If you have the name of one of the parties, or the Court File Number, you can search on the Hearing List page
  • If you know the date of the hearing, select it on this page: Calendar of Hearings
